A free AI video trial can help you decide whether a scene suits your idea. Before choosing a photo, check one more thing: will the result appear in a public community, or stay in your account? The answer can depend on the tool and whether you have bought credits.
Do not infer privacy from the word “free,” a sign-in screen or a small price. Read the visibility notice beside Generate and the service's current policy before uploading a personal photo.
Read the current visibility rule, not just the gallery
When checked on 30 October 2026, genjutsu.app described 50 free credits for new accounts, valid for 30 days. Its FAQ said videos are private by default and appear in Community only if you make them public or share them.
These are published statements, not a workflow we tested by registering or generating. A visible community gallery does not, by itself, mean every new result is public. Check the notice for your task and the service's current policy before uploading.
Genjutsu.app is a separate service from Genjutsu Lite at genjutsulite.org; a similar name does not imply shared accounts or policies. Visibility rules can change, so do not rely on an old screenshot or a comparison written before your visit.
Separate these three stages
Choosing a photo: Does the site keep the selected file in the browser, or upload it immediately? Seeing a preview does not answer that question by itself.
Processing a task: A result can be private from other visitors while the service and its AI provider still process the input. Private visibility is not the same as local-only generation.
Showing or sharing the result: Does the service publish outputs automatically, require an explicit Share action, or give you a private download link? Check whether both the result and its input references are visible to other people.
Ask about each stage rather than looking for one broad privacy label.
How Genjutsu Lite handles those stages
Our privacy policy describes selected photos as browser drafts until you explicitly start generation. Clear the draft in the studio when you no longer need it, and use your own browser profile for personal photos. Clearing local site data does not delete a file that has already been uploaded.
Starting generation uploads the photos to private Cloudflare storage. The configured provider, ApiMart, receives short-lived signed access for review and Seedance processing. This is an online processing service, not an on-device model.
The policy states a seven-day private output window and separate cleanup eligibility for uploads and results. Those windows do not promise immediate deletion from provider systems. Anyone who possesses a signed link may use it before expiry, so avoid posting a private media link in a public comment or support forum.
Genjutsu Lite currently requires purchased credits for generation and does not offer registration credits. You can inspect the examples and choose photos before buying. Read the current packs and input requirements before deciding; buying a pack does not automatically start a generation.
Check what a trial actually covers
A credit allowance is useful only in relation to the task you intend to run. Look for the selected template's quote, duration and output setting. Also check whether the allowance expires and whether another attempt would use more credits.
A trial that covers one short clip may not cover a longer scene or a different quality setting. Avoid treating the smallest advertised purchase as the price of every available video. If a price changes with the template, read the quote for that template before submitting.
A short checklist before you choose a photo
- Is a test result public by default, and can you change that before generating?
- Are input photos or references visible alongside a public result?
- At what point does the file leave your browser, and which provider processes it?
- What can you remove yourself, and what cleanup limits does the policy describe?
- Does the available credit balance cover the specific task you want?
Start with a photo you are comfortable using and have permission to use. If a visibility notice is unclear, ask the service before submitting. Choosing a tool is easier when you know both what the test costs and who can see it.
